IRON COUNTY RIGHT TO LIFE is here to fight for the unborn, the mentally and physically disabled, and our elderly. All are at risk. We believe none of us have a “CHOICE” to say a human life should be terminated! Since January 22, 1973, at least 42,588,669 babies have been aborted.

    Our Goals
  1. Help save babies from abortion.
  2. Help mothers cope with their feelings of post abortion.
  3. Give physical and material help to mothers if needed.
  4. Educate the public to the moral implications of abortion and euthanasia.

    Our Resources
  1. We are an affiliate of Michigan Right to Life.
  2. We work through the legislative process to help change laws involving all life.
  3. Keep the focus on abortion and euthanasia through various activities in the community.

    Those activities include
  1. Acknowledge annually the anniversary date of Roe vs Wade, January 22.
  2. A booth at the Iron County Fair each year with the distribution of Educational material-Brochures
  3. Maintain the Pro-Life bill board located on US-2 West and 2 cemetery stones in memory of the aborted babies. Planning another billboard in East Iron County.
  4. We try to enter various parades in the community for awareness of the cause.
  5. Periodically compose letters to the local newspapers for publication.
  6. Petition drives are done to bring people up to date on various bills in Congress.

Please make a commitment to help reach these goals by working within the law to end the killing of the “unwanted”. Your prayers are most important to help changes come about in peoples hearts and therefore in the laws of our country.

The People’s Override
On June 9, the Michigan Senate and House voted to pass the Legal Birth Definition Act by votes of 23-11 and 74-28, respectively. Since this legislation was presented to the legislature via The People’s Override (a citizen initiated petition drive), the legislation needed only a simple majority vote to become law. This law which defines legal birth and the commencement of legal right and was designed to ban partial-birth abortion cannot be vetoed by Governor Granholm, but is presently being held up in court. The Unalienable Right to Life
July 4th marks the day when our country declared its independence. In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote “We hold these truths to be selfevident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Stem cell misinformation corrected
In an effort to correct the ongoing misinformation being disseminated by the main-stream media regarding embryonic stem cell research, Right to Life of Michigan Legislative staff sent a memo to Governor Jennifer Granholm and Michigan lawmakers highlighting several important issues regarding stem cell research in Michigan.
