The Iron County Cancer Unit sends a heartfelt thank you to all who have contributed to ICCU in 2012. It is because of the generous donations received in the past year that the ICCU has been able to support Iron County residents in need of assistance. As you may recall, In September of 2011 the Iron County Cancer Unit had to suspend new applications for assistance due to the lack of finances. The ICCU Board of Directors began fundraising efforts such as the WIKB Radio-thon, the Silent Auction at Intermissions and the sidewalk sale during Market Days. The wonderful folks of Iron County responded by participating in these events and donating to the Iron County Cancer Unit. With the generous donations throughout these events and additional donations in the following months the Iron County Cancer Unit was able to resume assistance to cancer patients on August 1, 2012. Since August 1st the Iron County Cancer Unit has received 49 applications for assistance from local cancer patients. It is apparent how vital your contributions are and how your giving affects residents in our area.

The Iron County Cancer Unit Board of Directors is asking for your continued support. In order that we can go forward to assist our friends and neighbors who are fighting cancer. With Christmas near we are hoping that many of our donors will contribute to ICCU. Perhaps you would like to make your donation in honor of a loved one or in memory of someone dear to you. Each year in December the Iron County Cancer Unit sends a newsletter to as many donors as possible. In order to keep expenses to a minimum the ICCU Board has made the decision to send the newsletter to current year donors beginning with the newsletter for next year December 2013.

The Iron County Cancer Unit is a 501C3 non- profit organization, not affiliated with the American Cancer Society or any other organization. ICCU does not have employees and all of the work is done by volunteers. The ICCU’s only purpose is to assist cancer patients here in Iron County and all funds stay with the patients of Iron County. The ICCU functions on donations alone and has no other means of financial support. Without the generous donors the ICCU would not be able to continue assisting local patients.
