The Iron County Cancer Unit sends a heartfelt thank you to all who have contributed to ICCU in 2013. It is because of the generous donations received in the past year and the help of many volunteers that we have been able to support Iron County residents in need of assistance. The ICCU Board of Directors with WIKB Radio held the Radio-thon in March which essentially is the kick off for fundraising in 2013. Fundraising efforts have also been conducted by Iron County businesses, their employees, schools, churches and organizations.

The ICCU operates on a budget of $36,000.00 per year, covering assistance for an average of 50 patient applications a year. Each patient is eligible for $600.00 cash assistance per year. This may be used for assistance with cost of transportation, meals and lodging for out of town treatment, prostheses, food supplements, colostomy supplies, cancer related medications and respite care. The Iron County Cancer Unit operates a loan closet with assorted equipment and supplies for the patients care and comfort at home. These items can be used for as long as needed with no charge. The ICCU expenses for operating the loan closet include rent -$200 per month, insurance and electric and equipment maintenance. The other expenses are telephone, internet and office supplies. All work is done by volunteers and 100% of all donations stay in Iron County to benefit cancer patients and their families. The Iron County Cancer Unit is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is not a part of the American Cancer Society or any other cancer organization. Our only source of income is from donations. The ICCU has been serving Iron County for 15 years. Patient financial assistance started out at $100.00 and because of community support through the years the financial assistance has increased to $600.00.

We are grateful for your trust and assistance in the past. Perhaps you would like to make a donation in honor of a loved one or in memory of someone dear to you. All donations are tax deductible and should be mailed to:
